MOVE IT!

Coquitlam is promoting Move for Health Day with free activities around the city. At 9:30 a.m., meet at Spirit Square (south of city hall) for a Nordic walk around Lafarge Lake. Or at 9:30 a.m., be at the base of the newly built Coquitlam Crunch stairs (off Lansdowne Drive) for a climb up to officially open the 440-step trail to upper Lansdowne Drive. Meanwhile, Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex (633 Poirier St.) will offer 10% off a five-session personal training package today.

IT'S ALL NATURAL

Residents can learn how to put worms to work - whether they live in an apartment, townhome or house - at a workshop offered by the city of Coquitlam to coincide with International Compost Awareness Week, May 5 to 11. The session runs 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Inspiration Garden (corner of Guildford Way and Pipeline Road) and the cost at $30 includes supplies. MAY DAY PARADE
