Gleneagle secondary student Jennifer Gillis - who placed seventh in last year's CBC-TV reality showOver the Rainbow - will sing along with her grandparents' choir, The Maple Leaf Singers, for a special show titled Ooh's & Oz. The concert happens at the Inlet Theatre (100 Newport Dr., Port Moody) at 7:30 p.m. and is part of the city's centennial celebrations. It is also sponsored by the Port Moody Legion, branch 119. ART AFFAIR

The Port Moody Art Association's 46th annual exhibition and sale of original paintings opens at 7:30 p.m. at the Port Moody rec complex (300 Ioco Rd.). Exhibiting artists, city councillors as well as Col. R.C. Moody (aka the Rev. David Spence) will attend the city centennial event. Love to read? Stock up on new and gently used books at a sale hosted by the Friends of the Terry Fox Library. It runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Wilson Centre (2150 Wilson Ave., Port Coquitlam). Proceeds will support special library projects such as Books for BC Babies. Call 604-927-7999.

SHRED IT

Get rid of your old and unused documents - and avoid identify theft - by shredding them at event hosted by the Coquitlam RCMP. As part of Crime Prevention Week, detachment staff and volunteers will help residents destroy their papers with personal information at a shredding at 2986 Guildford Way, Coquitlam. VINO TIME

The Port Moody Arts Centre and West Coast Wine Education will hoist a glass to reds and whites at a fall wine tasting at Port Moody city hall (100 Newport Dr.). The Best of BC Wines Uncorked showcases new and current releases from the province's top 35 wineries - all to raise money for the Port Moody Arts Centre Society. The event runs from 7 to 9:30 p.m. and includes live entertainment from Chico and Jarred.
