Bring your appetite to the Inlet Fire Hall (150 Newport Dr.) where Port Moody firefighters will serve up a pancake feast, in support of the Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation and Crossroads Hospice Society. The grill will be fired up for the 41st annual event from 8 a.m. to noon today and Sunday; a minimum donation of $5 per plate is requested. Call 604-469-7795.

SEE THE SULPHUR
Hop on the free shuttle at Rocky Point Park (2800-block of Murray Street, Port Moody) to get to Pacific Coast Terminals, one of the city’s biggest employers, which is opening its facility to the public for a family fun day. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visit pct.ca.

SALSA NIGHT
Alberto Gonzalez and Teresa Szfler of the Hot Salsa Dance Zone offer an hour-long salsa class at 8 p.m., in the rehearsal hall at Evergreen Cultural Centre (1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam). BIF NAKED!
She headlined last year’s Kaleidoscope Arts Festival in Coquitlam but, for 2018, Bif Naked returns to the Tri-Cities and rocks out at the Golden Spike Days Festival. See the punk queen perform live with her band at 9:15 p.m. (Famous Players also entertain); admission is by donation. Visit goldenspike.ca.

Sunday, July 1

OH CANADA!
• Coquitlam: International performers Delhi 2 Dublin — a Vancouver-based electronic, bhangra, celtic and world pop act — take to the TD Community Plaza in Coquitlam Town Centre Park (1299 Pinetree Way) at 8:30 p.m. before the fireworks are lit above Lafarge Lake. But, before the headliners whip up the crowd, there’ll be a day of fun in the park with entertainment from Mostly Marley, Locarno, Speed Control, Tiller’s Folly, Lion Bear Fox, Silk Road, Tropical Heat, Bloco Energia and Will Stroet, on various stages. Watch for the roving entertainers and grab some grub from the food trucks. A free shuttle bus will run from 11:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. between Town Centre Park and Gleneagle secondary school (1195 Lansdowne Dr.). Visit coquitlam.ca/canadaday.
• Port Coquitlam: The city celebrations start with a Lions Club pancake breakfast ($5 for adults, $3 for kids under 10) and fishing derby (free for kids under 10) at Lions Park (2300 Lions Way) from 8 to 11:30 a.m. before the party moves up to Castle Park (2252 Castle Cres.) in the Citadel Heights neighbourhood where, from noon to dusk, there’ll be entertainment, food trucks and kids’ fun. The PoCo firefighters serve up a salmon barbecue dinner for $10 a plate, from 3 to 6 p.m. with proceeds supporting the BC Professional Fire Fighters Burn Fund. And Jessica Barbour, Top City and Derrival hit the stage before the pyrotechnics shoot off, also courtesy of the PoCo firefighters. Visit portcoquitam.ca/canadaday.
• Port Moody: Slip on your swimsuit and ride on the giant inflatable slide at Rocky Point Park (2800-block of Murray Street) from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the annual Canada Day bash during the Golden Spike Days Festival. The opening ceremony is at 1 p.m. on the PCT Performance Stage, with cupcakes offered to attendees at 1:30 p.m. Check out the pop-up city hall, make your mark in the community collage art project and hear music from Toy Zebra, the Squares Barbershop Quartet, Port Moody’s own Rocky Milino Jr. and the C4D Band and the headliners, Barney Bentall and the Legendary Hearts, whose gig starts at 9:15 p.m. Parking will be limited so hop off the Evergreen Extension at Moody Centre and walk to the park, or grab a ride on the free city shuttle; it runs 11:30 a.m. to midnight. Visit portmoody.ca/canadaday.
