AIR ONE LANDS

Learn about policing - and see the RCMP's Air One helicopter land at 10 a.m. - at the Interactive Emergency Response Fair, held in conjunction with the Junior Mounties Policy Academy, at the Poirier Sport and Lesiure Complex (633 Poirier St., Coquitlam), from 9 a.m. to noon. ART SHOW

About 75 watercolour, acrylic and oil paintings - as well as photos - will be up for sale this weekend as part of the Coquitlam Art Club's summer show. The original pieces by the Dogwood Pavilion members will be on display tonight (7 to 9 p.m.); Saturday (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.); and Sunday (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) at the Centennial Pavilion (620 Poirier St., Coquitlam). YARD SALE

The Hyde Creek Watershed Society yard sale at 10 a.m. will raise funds for - and take place at - the Hyde Creek Education Centre and Hatchery (3636 Coast Meridian Rd., PoCo).

Port Coquitlam's summer Music in the Park series opens with The Bent Nails - an original six-piece band from Vancouver that formed in 2005 to play a blend of blues, roots and country - at Lions Park (2300 Lions Way) at 2 p.m. while, in Port Moody, the nine-piece Big City Soul will play Rocky Point Park as part of Pacific Coast Terminals' Summer Sunday Concerts series. RUSSIAN RECITAL

The Yarilo Music Ensemble and Methodica Acting Studio host a concert to mark what would have been the 140th birthday of Russian composer Alexander Scriabin.
