It's a city full of treasures as Port Coquitlam hosts its city-wide garage sale, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nearly 80 homes throughout PoCo are registered for the sale; get addresses online at www.portcoquitlam.ca/garagesale and map a route.
KIDS GEAR
If you've got kids, chances are they need gear - a lot of it. Find gently used children's clothing, toys, books, sports equipment, baby furniture and more at the Kids Only Swap Meet at the Port Moody recreation complex (300 Ioco Dr.) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
CHORALE CONCERTS
Welcome spring with the 60-member Coquitlam Chorale in two concerts at the Evergreen Cultural Centre (1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam). Through the Eyes of a Child features songs for the child in all of us, including Disney songs like Zip-Ah-Dee-Do-Dah, A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes and Colors of the Wind. Local group The Creole Jazz Band will join the Chorale for several selections. Concerts are at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20/$10, available by calling 604-970-8070.

SUN RUN
If you're joining the Vancouver Sun Run festivities this weekend, leave the car at home and take the West Coast Express instead. The train stops in PoCo at 7:39 a.m., Coquitlam Central at 7:45 a.m. and in Port Moody at 7:50 a.m., arriving at Waterfront Station at 8:15 a.m. with plenty of time to get warmed up before the run. The train leaves Waterfront at 1 p.m. Call 604-488-8906.
HERITAGE WALK
Join the Riverview Horticultural Centre Society and Burke Mountain Naturalists as they lead a Heritage Walk at Riverview Hospital. Enjoy the richly detailed tour and discover the history of Riverview's magnificent architecture, as well as its stately trees. STAGED READING
Check out a free reading of Vancouver playwright Loretta Seto's new play, Deep Water, at 2 p.m. at the Evergreen Cultural Centre (1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam). A UBC creative writing grad, Seto's play Why Weight? was a big success at the Vancouver Fringe Festival two years ago. Deep Water is a darkly funny drama about a relationship therapist whose world spirals out of control when she becomes pregnant following an affair. The one-woman play will be performed by Andrea Yu.
