LOOKING FOR LAZULIS

Join fellow bird-watching enthusiasts at Colony Farm Regional Park for a Lazuli Bunting walk, and get a chance to see the Black-throated Sparrow and Western Kingbird as well. If you have binoculars, it's a good idea to bring them. Meet at the community gardens at the end of Colony Farm Road for the walks running 9 to 10:30 a.m. and 3 to 4:30 p.m. Led by experienced birders with the Burke Mountain Naturalists and Colony Farm Park Association, the walks are free and suitable for ages 15+. Call 604-520-6442 for more info.

RELAY FOR LIFE

Take a turn around the track and support Coquitlam's 22nd annual Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life at Percy Perry Stadium (Town Centre Park) from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. During this non-competitive, fun-filled event, teams take turns walking or running laps around the track for 12 or more hours. Each team is asked to have at least one team member on the track at all times. Funds raised go to cancer research, offering cancer support services and leading prevention initiatives. Find out more and register at www.relaybc.ca.

GET TUMBLING

Parkland Players (1563 Regan Ave., Coquitlam) host a kids' carnival featuring music, games, crafts, face painting and the fun-on-wheels TumbleBus. The carnival runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; contact 604-936-7005 or facebook.com/hpmeadowbrookplayers for more information.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and shows begin at 8 p.m.
