The 14th annual Port Moody Film Festival continues tonight with the documentaries Watermark and Stories We Tell - both of which will be preceded by short local films. On Saturday night is Cas & Dylan and Lawrence and Holloman, while Sunday night concludes the festival with The Art of Steal, starring Kurt Russell. Admission is $7 per film (plus an annual $5 society fee). Visit pmfilm.ca.

PARTY 101

The city of Port Coquitlam will carry on last year's centennial celebrations with a birthday party for city hall, which was built in 1914. Tour the heritage building (2580 Shaughnessy St.) from noon to 3 p.m. to see displays and take part in activities - for free. And that night, community groups and sponsors will be recognized at city hall during a fundraiser for the PoCo Heritage and Cultural Society. Advance tickets at $25 can be bought though PoCoParty.ca.

SHAMROCK COOKIE

Decorate a Shamrock-shaped sugar cookie - made from a 1915 recipe - at Coquitlam's Mackin House Museum (1116 Brunette Ave.) from 1 to 3 p.m. The event is by donation and registration is required by calling 604-516-6151. Visit coquitlamheritage.ca.

IRISH SALSA?

Latin beats will mix with Celtic tunes at the Hot Salsa Dance Zone's St. Patrick's Day party, happening 7 p.m. to midnight in the rehearsal hall of the Evergreen Cultural Centre (1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam). Beginners can take a salsa, bachata and merengue lesson from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event is licensed and parking is free. Tickets are $10 at the door.
