HAPPY NEW YEAR

Ring in 2013 in style with the Quiring Chamber Quartet at the Evergreen Cultural Centre (1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam). TAKE THE PLUNGE

Take part in this New Year's Day tradition with an added celebration, as Port Moody kicks off its centennial year. Join in the photo on the pier for the time capsule, then steel yourself for the icy dip into Burrard Inlet. Warm up by the bonfire with a mug of hot chocolate and check out the historical photo display from the PoMo Station Museum. There will be prizes for best costumes, free cupcakes, face painting and magic. Plungers pay $5 or $10/family. Celebrations kick off at 11 a.m. at Rocky Point (2800-block Murray St.).
