TWO CAFES

If you ruled the world, what would you do?

That's the question to be asked Sept. 13 as the SFU Philosophers' Cafe begins at its new location, Coquitlam Public Library, 575 Poirier St., starting at 7 p.m.

Moderator Amir Kamyabnejad will ask "What is an ideal society? If you had the power to create your own country or society, how would you build it?"

Is it time to ask if democracy has turned out to be a flawed political system? Can the tendency of democracy to move towards economic monopolies and plutocracy be avoided? How can citizens be properly "armed" to be qualified participants in the democratic process?

You can join moderator Graham Forst for this SFU Philosophers' Cafe discussion at 7 p.m. Sept. 17 in The Gathering Place in Port Coquitlam's Leigh Square Community Arts Village.

For either of these two sessions, call 778-782-5215 or visit www.philosopherscafe.net for further information. Everyone is welcome. Registration and experience are not required and admission is free.
