Try archery, tennis, golf and soccer in Coquitlam

From May 1 to 13, the city of Coquitlam hosts multiple opportunities for people 55+ to try different sports.

As part of its “Try-It” programs, which allow people to try different sports and activities in advance of the 55+ BC Games in the Coquitlam, the city continues to offer recreation opportunities.

Free introductory sessions will teach game basics, rules, and techniques. While more “Try-It” sessions will be held across Coquitlam throughout the year, those  in the next few weeks include these:

• Sunday, May 1: archery,  Pinetree community centre (1260 Pinetree Way) Gym 2, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.; and tennis at Town Centre Park (1240 Pipeline Rd.) Tennis Club from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

• Friday, May 6: soccer at Pinetree community centre Gym 3, 1 to 2:30 p.m.

• Sunday, May 8: archery,  Pinetree community centre (1260 Pinetree Way) Gym 2, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.; and tennis at Town Centre Park (1240 Pipeline Rd.) Tennis Club from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

• Tuesday, May 10: golf at Eaglequest Golf Centre (1001 United Blvd.) from 11 a.m. to noon; track and field at Town Centre Park, Percy Perry Stadium, 10 a.m. to noon.

• Friday, May 13: soccer at Pinetree community centre Gym 3, 1 to 2:30 p.m.
