Coquitlam RCMP is looking to set up a volunteer bike patrol to be the eyes and ears of the community in Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam.
Patrol members will be responsible for observing, recording and reporting issues they see on the road. The application deadline is April 11 and applicants must be 16 years or older, a Canadian citizen and able to pass a basic security clearance.
Equipment and training will be provided but basic biking skills are required. A training session is mandatory and is scheduled for Saturday, May 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participants must bring their own bicycle helmet and wear clothing suitable for the weather.
