Walk to end bullying set for Dec. 8 in Port Coquitlam

The I Am Someone Walk to End Bullying returns to Port Coquitlam on Sunday, Dec.

The I Am Someone Walk to End Bullying returns to Port Coquitlam on Sunday, Dec. 8 for a second year, bringing together the local and regional community to raise awareness and funds, and show support for anti-bullying resources and on-going community education.

Children, teens, adults, and pets (on leashes) are invited to join friends and neighbors at Leigh Square in Port Coquitlam to participate in the walk and help make a difference, one step at a time. Family favourites Bobs and Lolo, Jacob Gebrewold and She Laughs will be on hand to entertain. As well, there will be food and refreshments, as well as children's activities. Chelsea Hobbis will be the emcee and the event is presented by Coquitlam Centre.

The walk is being organized by the Port Coquitlam-based I am Someone Ending Bullying Society whose mission is to encourage, educate, and empower individuals, businesses, and communities to be the effective change to end bullying through community awareness and support, technology, and advocacy.

All proceeds from the walk and sale of promotional items will help support anti-bullying programs and initiatives through the I am Someone Ending Bullying Society.

Leigh Square is located at 2253 Leigh Square, to the south of PoCo City Hall, and on-site registration for the walk begins at noon with an official start time at 1 p.m.
