On May 4 at the Inlet Theatre in Port Moody, 10 teams from five Lower Mainland library systems will be turning pages as they compete for the Reading Link Grand Challenge 2016 championship.
Students in Grades 4 and 5 read a selection of 6 books, and then advance through three to four levels of competition in their quest to become the champions.
At each level, teams answer questions on characters, plot and settings. This year, 813 teams from 174 participating elementary schools in the Lower Mainland took part in the first level of competition.
This marks the 14th year of the Reading Link program, now jointly held by Coquitlam Public Library, Fraser Valley Regional Library, Surrey Public Library, North Vancouver City Library and Port Moody Public Library.
