Photos can be recent or historical - black or white - and must be taken in the Port Coquitlam, showcasing the city's unique qualities with an emphasis on the use of imagination.

The contest is also only open to PoCo residents.

Prizes include a Kobo eReader, an iTunes gift card, new books and more. Winners will be chose in three different age categories, including: 12 and under; 13 to 17; and 18 and over.

Submissions are being accepted now through April 19, with voting taking place through April 26. Winners will be presented prizes at a May Day celebration event and their photos will be displayed at the Terry Fox Library, in and around other city facilities and in The Tri-City News.

All entries will become property of the Fraser Valley Regional Library (FVRL), the City of Port Coquitlam and the The Tri-City News. Staff members of the three aforementioned operations and their immediate families are not eligible to enter the contest.
