• The Club Port Moody, a gathering place for those over 50 at 101 Noons Creek Dr., hosts a number of regular events, including: crocinole, Tuesdays, 10 a.m.; knitting, Tuesdays, 1-2:30 p.m.; cribbage, Wednesdays, 10 a.m.-noon; ukelele group, Wednesdays, 1:30-3:30 p.m. Info:

• Coquitlam 50+ (Glen Pine and Dogwood pavilions) slo-pitch ball club is looking for man 55 and older and women 50 and older from the Tri-Cities to play ball. It is not necessary to have participated in organized ball in your past life, just have some knowledge of the game and an ability to make it around the bases. • Minds in Motion, a fitness and social program for people with early-stage Alzheimer’s and a care partner hosted, by Alzheimer Society of B.C., runs Wednesdays, 1-3 p.m., Dogwood Pavilion, 624 Poirier St., Coquitlam. Cost: $38 per pair/8 weeks. Register in person or call 604-927-6098.

• Stroke Recovery Association of BC, Coquitlam branch at Dogwood Pavilion invites people recovering from stroke and their caregivers most Fridays, 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. for speech therapy, exercise, indoor bocce, music, dance, games, speakers, outings, fun and friendship, 624 Poirier St. (enter off Winslow Avenue). • The Alzheimer Society of BC has two active support groups in the Tri-Cities. One meets on the second Wednesday of each month, the other meets on the last Wednesday of each month. People who are interested in participating in a caregiver support group should call Dorothy Leclair at 604-298-0780.

• Seniors meet every Friday, 12:30-2:30 p.m., to do fun group activities including physical fitness exercises, games, storytelling, local tours and recipe sharing.
