Books Plus runs in The Tri-City News each Friday to highlight programs and happenings in the Tri-Cities’ three libraries: Coquitlam Public Library, Port Moody Public Library and Terry Fox Library in Port Coquitlam.

COQUITLAM
• 3D printing: Curious to know more about 3D printing? Want to see how 3D printers work? Coquitlam Public Library is hosting two events to get you in the know (registration is not required for either of these free programs, which run from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the City Centre branch, Room 127 and Innovation Hub): Tuesday, April 5 — local expert John Biehler will give a talk and host a Q&A session on 3D printers for the home, 3D printing materials, how to make your own 3D models and much more; and Wednesday, April 13 — Tinkerine, a Canadian 3D printing company, will be demonstrating the its DittoPro 3D Printer. Come see how this printer is a tool for education and how such printers can help to realize your ideas.
• Stories, songs and crafts for people with developmental challenges: Join community services librarian Teresa Rehman on the last Wednesday of the month for music, songs, dancing, crafts and stories. The sessions run from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Nancy Bennett Room at the Poirier branch; the next one is on March 30. To register, phone 604-937-4155. PORT MOODY
• Twilight Tales: Come in your pyjamas and fuzzy slippers for a relaxing half-hour of stories, songs and more. This program is held on the last Tuesday of the month from 6:30 to 7 p.m. and is for kids from birth to six years of age with parents or caregiver. The next Twilight Tales is on March 29 in the Storytelling Circle.
• Share English practice group for adults: Looking for a place to practise speaking English? All levels are welcome to drop into the library’s ParkLane Room on Fridays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. You’ll join other English learners in this free program hosted by volunteers with Share Family and Community Services and enjoy conversations with the other participants and the group leader. You will also find out more about your community in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Call Share at 604-936-3900 for more information.

• Kids’ movie matinee: Looking for some fun on your day off? Visit Terry Fox Library for a fantastic family film. Librarians will be screening The Peanuts Movie (in which, according to IMDB, “Snoopy embarks upon his greatest mission as he and his teams take to the skies to pursue their arch-nemesis while his best pal Charlie Brown begins his own epic quest back home to win the love of his life.” Everyone is welcome on Friday, April 15, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
