Indian classical vocal concert with Pandit Jasraj School of Music: Held at the Poirier branch on June 14 from 6:45 to 8:30 p.m., this performance will feature principal Asha Lohia and the teachers and students of Guru Sangeet Martand Padma Vibushan Pandit Jasraj. The school fosters the preservation, growth and teaching of Indian classical music in the traditional style of Mewati Gharana. Visiting world renowned artist Pandit Rattan Mohan Sharma, nephew of Pandit Jasraj, will be at this recital and will treat the audience to a classical composition.

Inlet Book Club: New members are welcome - just drop in as this book discussion group meets in PMPL's ParkLane Room from 1 to 3 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month. At the June 6 meeting, the book discussed will be The Tiger: A True Story of Vengeance and Survival by John Vaillant. The Governor General's Literary Award-winning author for The Golden Spruce, Vaillant has created another fascinating and mystical non-fiction work. Set in Siberia, it describes in lyric and powerful language the hunt for a man-killing tiger.

New kids card design: Kids can vote for their favourite new children's card design at Port Moody Library. Choose from three unique designs and submit a vote every time you visit the library this summer. To vote, kids must be aged 12 or under or must be part of our Summer Reading Club. The winning design will be announced at the summer reading club medal ceremony on Sept. 8.
