Clear Clutter: On Sept. 19 from 7 to 8:30 p.m., get a reality check on your household CRUD (completely ridiculous useless debris) and laugh your way to a clutter-free existence with authors Susan Borax and Heather Knittel. Registration is required and begins Sept. 1. Call 604-469-4577 to reserve a seat.

Summer Reading Club medal ceremony: Congratulations to all the kids who completed 50 days of reading during summer vacation. You can come by Port Moody Public Library and pick up a free timed ticket for the medal ceremony. Medals sponsored by the Royal Bank Financial Group will be given out on Saturday, Sept. 8 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. You will also receive a special certificate, enjoy refreshments and have your face painted. No waiting in long line-ups - just arrive at the time printed on your ticket.

Adult Learners Book Club: The library has a book discussion group for adults upgrading their reading skills or learning English. The Adult Learners Book Club meets once a month to talk about a book written in simple language. On Sept. 12 from 7 to 8:30 p.m., the club will discuss Fair-Weather Friend by Patricia Scanlan. All adult learners, including ESL, are welcome.

COQUITLAM

Bring your Ancestors Home: How can you learn about your ancestors when you can't travel to the places they lived? By surfing the internet, using library resources and networking with other family historians, of course. Join speaker Chris Longley as she sets you on the path to growing your family tree from yourself back to more distant generations. Longley co-ordinates the genealogy group at Wilson Centre in Port Coquitlam and has uncovered her family's roots back to the 18th century. This free program runs next Thursday, Sept. 6 from 6:45 to 8:30 p.m. in the Nancy Bennett Room at the Poirier branch. Phone 604-937-4155 to register.

September/October storytimes at Terry Fox Library:

Babytime: Babies and books belong together. Discover the pleasure of reading with your baby as Babytime for infants up to 12 months and their caregivers will run on Fridays, Sept. 21 to Oct. 12, from 10:15 to 10:40 a.m. Parents will experience the warmth and enjoyment of cuddling with their babies while listening to nursery rhymes and stories. Reserve a space for you and your baby.

The More we Read Together pre-school storytimes include books, fingerplays, songs and flannel board stories. Join librarians and their puppet friends for cozy fun on Tuesdays, Sept. 11 to Oct. 2 from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m.

Pyjama Storytime: Bring the entire family to the library for a half-hour of stories, songs and rhymes - children are welcome to come in pyjamas and bring a stuffed toy. These storytimes take place on the first Wednesday of each month, 6:45 to 7:15 p.m. The next storytime is on Sept. 5.

Saturday Storytime: Add some fun to your weekend by visiting the Fox library on the third Saturday of each month to enjoy stories fingerplays and songs that will entertain and delight kids of all ages. The next Saturday Storytime is on Sept. 15 from 11 to 11:30 a.m.
