Explore Port Moody Memories: The Library is hosting the Port Moody Heritage Society's interactive multimedia Port Moody Memories kiosk for the whole month of March. Watch a slide show of historical photographs while enjoying audio recordings of early Port Moody residents. Mary Jones talks about her arrival in 1912, Bert Flinn tells about his harrowing sawmill accident and Fred Laidlaw describes the many recreational activities of Ioco town.

Convenient Preschool Drop-in Programs: Space is available at Port Moody Public Library's Preschool programs. Baby Sing and Learn programs for infants to 18 months and their parents or caregivers are on Thursdays from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. or from 2 to 2:45 p.m. until May 30th. Join Preschool Storytime for ages two to five and their parents or caregivers on Mondays from 10 to 10:30 a.m. until May 27. Our evening Twilight Tales storytimes for babies and children up to six years old with their parents or caregivers run on the last Tuesday of the month between 6:30-7:00 p.m. Dates are March 26 and April 30.

100 Years of PoCo: What was it like in Port Coquitlam 100 years ago? What did people do for fun? Where did they go to school and what was Shaughnessy Street like? Residents are invited to find out more at an interactive forum at the Terry Fox Library this month. Participants can test their knowledge of historical artifacts and enter for a chance to win a prize. After learning about the past, imagine what life will be like in 100 years and add your voice to the Heritage Society's digital time capsule. The event takes place at the Terry Fox Library on March 22 between 2 and 3 p.m.

COQUITLAM

Friends quiz: Friends of the Library's quiz night is set for Friday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the City Centre branch. You can participate in teams of eight - either form a group with seven friends or sign up individually and organizers will place you with a team. Proceeds from the fundraiser support literacy projects for children and adults living in Coquitlam, and the city's new library. Tickets cost $25 each and include coffee, dessert and a chance to win draw prizes. To buy tickets, or for more information, phone the library at 604-937-4130.
