Books Plus runs in The Tri-City News each Friday to highlight programs and happenings in the Tri-Cities' three libraries: Coquitlam Public Library, Port Moody Public Library and Terry Fox Library in Port Coquitlam.
Language lab computers: New Canadians can access even more English language skills through CPL's language labs, available at the City Centre branch. Language lab computers are equipped with headphones, microphones and software that will assist users to learn and develop their English language skills. The software is designed to help beginner, intermediate and advanced ESL speakers improve grammar, conversation and pronunciation skills while learning vocabulary, idioms and language skills for the new TOEFL-IBT. Language lab computers are a free service and are available during regular library hours. Computers and headphones can be reserved at the circulation desk of either branch, in person or by telephone. Read for Life: Adult Learning : Did you know that 40% of adults in British Columbia have low literacy? Literacy is the ability to understand and use printed information in daily activities at home at work and in the community. TFL has added new adult learning materials to its already large collection. These materials include books, graphic novels, CDs, DVDs and multimedia kits specifically designed to help adult learners develop their skills. Fox's friendly staff can help you find local tutoring and literacy programs as well as excellent learning materials.

Art exhibits: Through May, the library is exhibiting the photography of Chris Wood and Katie Brewer. These local artists specialize in a range of themes, from natural images to maternity and boudoir work. When you check out your next book, take a moment to experience their art in the library.
