Quiz Night: On Friday, April 10 starting at 7:30 p.m., the City Centre branch will host quiz night. Sign up as a team of eight or individually and teams will be formed. This fundraiser, which includes beverages, light refreshments, desserts and door prizes, will support literacy projects for children and adults living in Coquitlam. Call 604-937-4130 to buy a ticket for $25.

Job search strategies in Korean: CPL presents a series of free workshops on job search strategies and resume and cover letter writing for the Korean community presented in Korean by HR specialist Steve Oh. This program is for immigrant students and adults who want to learn about the kinds of jobs available in Canada and how to apply for them. Participants are welcome to bring their own laptops. Registration is not required but the maximum number of people allowed is 20. The workshops are: Session 1: Job search strategy, Wednesday, April 8, 1 to 3:30 p.m., City Centre branch, computer lab. Session 2: Resume and cover letter writing, Friday, April 10, 1 to 3:30 p.m., City Centre branch, computer lab. Participants are encouraged to bring their own resumes and cover letters and their own laptops.

Best learning apps for kids: On March 28 from 2 to 3 p.m., you can find out about some of the best educational apps for Apple and Android devices and learn how to select apps for your kids. Space is limited so call 604-469-4577 to register.

Twilight Tales (drop-in): Come in your pyjamas and fuzzy slippers for a relaxing half-hour of stories, songs and more. This program is held on the last Tuesday of the month from 6:30 to 7 p.m. and is for kids from birth to six years of age with their parents/caregiver. The next Twilight Tales is on March 31 in PMPL's Storytelling Circle.

Inlet Book Club: The Inlet Book Club meets on the first Wednesday of each month from 1 to 3 p.m. New members are welcome to drop in and join the discussion about new and topical books. On April 1, clubbers will be discussing After Alice by Alice Hofman.

Book Buddies: Registration for the April/May session of Book Buddies starts April 1. Kids in Grades 2 to 4 can practise their reading and writing skills with a teen buddy. Sessions run from 10 to 10:45 a.m. or from 11 to 11:45 a.m. on Saturdays starting April 18 and running through May 23. Call the library at 604-469-4577 to register.

The write stuff: Essential Writing Tips with Janet Love Morrison is an in-depth, hands-on workshop at Terry Fox Library and a wonderful opportunity for anyone who writes or aspires to write. Love Morrison is an author, speaker, teacher and editor, and will cover the writing process from ideas, organization, style and effective writing to revising, editing and getting published on Saturday, April 11, 1 to 4 p.m.
