Attend this hands-on session and, afterwards, try it yourself. If you wish, bring your own eReader and fully charged laptop. Please note: library eBooks are not compatible with Kindles. Building Financial Wealth through Real Estate Assets: Thursday, April 7, 7 to 8:30 p.m., City Centre branch: Discover how to build a real estate investment portfolio that stands the test of time and delivers better than average returns, whether you are new to investment real estate or a seasoned investor. Karen Dennehy, mortgage specialist, will show you how to do your due diligence, what is involved in financing rental properties and how to manage your property effectively. Know your Human Rights: Saturday, April 9, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Poirier branch: Robyn Durling from the BC Human Rights Coalition will talk about human rights laws in B.C. and how you can defend yourself from discrimination. Learn to protect your rights and make sure you don't discriminate against anyone else. There will be a Korean interpreter present. Registration is required for this free program as space is limited. Estate Planning: Building your Legacy: Saturday, April 9, 2 to 3:30 p.m., Poirier branch: It's important to develop your estate plan to help shape the future and ensure that your wishes remain intact. Financial advisor James Leung will give you a fresh perspective on strategies to consider for preserving everything you've worked hard to build. In this free seminar, you will learn the value of having an estate plan - beyond a simple will as well as the four key building blocks for an effective plan and what to consider when creating or updating your estate plan. The Book Bus brings library material and programs to people throughout Coquitlam. It will be visiting: Tri-City Family Place, 3435 Victoria Dr., Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and Cottonwood Park, 672 Aspen St., Coquitlam, Saturdays from 10:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

TERRY FOX (POCO)

Patrick Taylor, author of the famed Irish Country series, pays a special visit Monday, April 4 to read from and talk about his much-loved books. Set in the 1960s, Taylor's entertaining series is filled with likeable characters, lyrical dialogue and has become a favourite worldwide, making the bestseller lists in USA Today, The New York Times and the Globe and Mail. PORT MOODY

Night Readers Book Club: New members are welcome for this book discussion group, which usually meets the fourth Wednesday of each month but this month meets on the fifth Wednesday (March 30) from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the ParkLane Room. The book for March is The Other by David Gutherson, which tells the story of John William Barry and Neil Countryman, who meet at a high school track meet and discover they share a love of the outdoors. These two friends are very different and their adult lives take divergent paths.

Family Fun Night (drop-in) is Tuesday, March 29, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the ParkLane Room. YOu can learn all about food with fun stories, alphabet crafts and take-home activities. This is for kids ages three to six years with their parent or caregiver.
