PORT MOODY

Baby Sing and Learn: This program encourages bonding and promotes early speech and language development. The fall sessions of this interactive program of songs, rhymes and books start on Monday, Sept. 17 from 11 to 11:45 a.m. or Thursday, Sept. 20 from 2 to 2:45 p.m. These sessions run until mid-December and are appropriate for parents/caregivers and their babies from newborn to 18 months.

Pre-school Story-time: Join PMPL librarians on Thursdays from 10 to 10:30 a.m. in the Storytelling Circle for Pre-school Storytime. Help your 18-month to five-year-old child get ready to read with stories and songs. The earlier you expose a child to language, song and rhyme, the better. Storytime helps children to build vocabulary, develop fine and gross motor skills, develop social skills, learn how to participate in a group setting and form a positive, fun association with books and learning. Research shows these activities encourage healthy brain development.

Teen Book Buddies wanted: Book Buddies is a program that pairs teens with children in Grades 2 to 4. Training and supervision are provided in this program, which runs on Saturdays, Oct. 20 to Dec. 15 from 9:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. For more information and to apply, check out PMPL's Teen Site or call the library. Application deadline is Sept. 24.
