Learning Canadian Culture: In the latest instalment of a series of free workshops for people who are new to Canada, participants on Monday, June 17 (10:30 a.m. to noon, City Centre branch, Room 127), will learn about restaurant and dining etiquette, including menus, tipping, table manners and restroom etiquette. Sandra Martins, museum coordinator of Mackin House Museum in Coquitlam, will present. Summer fun: The library can help you decide where to go for a summer holiday and help you have a great vacation - even if it is just in your own backyard. PMPL has books, DVDs, magazines and eBooks that can help you plan anything from your vacation trip of a lifetime to a local outing. It also has a variety of guides to better golfing, boating, barbecuing and other summer fun to help you make the most of your time off.

Learning Express: Learning Express Library provides online tutorials, practice tests, skill building courses and eBooks to help you learn at your own pace on a variety of topics including basic, intermediate and advanced courses on popular software including Work and Excel. You can find this great resource on the PoMo library website at www.library.portmoody.ca under Digital Content.

Up, Up and Away: Future astronauts, superheroes in training and kids of all ages are invited to join the Summer Reading Club at Terry Fox Library. This is their chance to take to the skies, voyage through space and follow authors to other worlds. Get ready for some uplifting reading and more. Everyone who joins the club will be given a colourful reading record and bookmark. Visit the library regularly and collect stickers for your reading record. At the end of the summer, you may receive a medal for your efforts. There are lots of great prizes to be won. Sign-up has begun and continues throughout the summer. Younger children may join the special Read To Me Club. And kids, remember to get your free tickets for magicians, puppet shows the Astronaut Book Camp and more.
