Christmas stories and songs for people with developmental challenges: This program, to be held next Friday, Dec. 19 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Nancy Bennett Room at the Poirier branch, is for people of all ages who have developmental challenges, and their caregivers. Community Services Librarian Teresa Rehman will lead the group in singing Christmas carols; participants will also make a Christmas craft and light refreshments will be served. Countdown to Christmas Puppet Show: Get into the Christmas spirit with Fox's seasonal puppet show on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 3:45 to 4:30 p.m.
Every parent wants their child to read: Reading with your child is fun and a great way to spend time together. Sharing books with your child helps open their eyes, minds and hearts to different people and situations, and stretches their horizons. Reading together increases children's literacy skills but research also proves that children who enjoy reading do better at school in all subjects.
