Year-end Tax Planning: Jay Panis, division director of Investors Group Financial Services, will provide various strategies and tax tips that can be implemented prior to the end of the year in order to minimize income taxes. Topics include the importance of tax planning, capital gains and losses, RRSP contributions, items claimed in the year they are paid and year-end tax planning for business owners. The event takes place on Tuesday, Feb. 17 between 7 and 8:30 p.m. at the City Centre Branch of the Coquitlam Public Library (Room 127). Another session will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 24 between 7 and 8:30 p.m. at the Poirier Branch in the Nancy Bennett Room. Regisration is required for this free program as seating is limited.
