COQUITLAM Calling all children 14 and older. The Summer Reading Club is kicking off at the Coquitlam Public Library and is a great way to discover books and have fun reading over the warm months.

Calling all children 14 and older. The Summer Reading Club is kicking off at the Coquitlam Public Library and is a great way to discover books and have fun reading over the warm months. This is also a great opportunity for ESL students and parents to improve their English language skills. The club starts on June 1 and participants are invited to register at the information desk at either the City Centre location or the Poirier location. Those who join will receive a reading record to record the names of the books they read. The summer kickoff takes place at City Centre on June 1 between 1:30 and 2:15 p.m. with a 1 p.m. registration time, and at the Poirier rec centre between 10:30 and 11:15 a.m. with a 10 a.m. registration time.

PORT MOODY

Teens aged 13 to 18 can join the online Teen Reading Club at www.teenrc.ca starting June 6. Review and talk about your favourite books with teens from all over the Metro Vancouver area and join in polls to win weekly prizes. Chat with awesome authors like Kelley Armstrong and Darren Shan or enter the What's Your Story? contest to win an iPad mini.

Summer Reading Club registration begins June 1. Sign up at the library to receive a special booklet to record your favourite books and collect weekly stickers to track your reading. Members can drop in to our amazing programs and kids who have read for 50 days or more receive a gold reading club medal at a special medal ceremony on August 24.

TERRY FOX

Get ready for 60 minutes of stories, puppets and laughter when Elspeth Bowers visits the Terry Fox Library this month. Called Up, Up and Away, the event, which is held on Wednesday, June 19, between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m., will feature the puppeteer as she leads children on a fun adventure with songs and stories. Tickets are free and available June 3.

Enjoy engaging stories that entertain and delight. The Terry Fox Library is offering families and caregivers with young children drop-in storytimes on Friday mornings between now and June 26, from 10:15 to 10:45 am. Storytimes include books, fingerplays, songs and flannel board stories. Join us and our puppet friends for lots of fun and laughter. Everyone is welcome.

Celebrate National Aboriginal day at the Terry Fox Library with our special Saturday Storytime with guest storyteller Lorre Gibson. Come to hear Lorre's Aboriginal stories and see her First Nations artifacts and regalia. Drop by Saturday, June 15 between 11 and 11:30 am.
