Christmas Tea and Trivia: Join librarians at Fox for an afternoon tea and share your fond memories of past Christmases in a festively decorated environment on Friday, Dec. 5 from 2 to 3 p.m. They will also have a friendly game of trivia, and names will be drawn for poinsettia giveaways.

Family Christmas Special: Celebrate the season with a night of festive family fun on Wednesday, Dec. 4 from 6:45 to 7:15 p.m. Enjoy stories, sing carols and help decorate the library Christmas Tree - and seasonal goodies will be served.

Countdown to Christmas Puppet Show: Christmas is coming! Are you ready? Get into the spirit with a seasonal puppet show on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 3:45 to 4:30 p.m. Registration has opened.

PORT MOODY

Internet Basics (registration required): On Dec. 3 from 2:30 to 4 p.m., you can learn what you need to know to access the internet. This class covers the basic toolbar buttons, Internet terminology, printing and searching techniques. Basic keyboard and mouse skills required.

Keep your Language Alive: Help your child stay in touch with their roots with PMPL's Links to Language Multilingual Kits. Each kit contains 10 pre-school-level books, a CD and a DVD in one of five languages: Chinese, Korean, Persian, Spanish and French. A bilingual resource manual provides tips on building early literacy skills. Borrow a kit today.

Tech Café: Visit PMPL's knowledgeable teen volunteers for free one-on-one help with your basic computer questions. Drop in to the ParkLane Room on Fridays through Dec. 13 between 4 and 5:30 p.m. for help with a variety of technology basics such as email, smartphones, texting, eReaders, Microsoft Office and more.

COQUITLAM

Beginner internet: If you already feel confident using the mouse, sign up for a free beginner internet class on Dec. 3, 2 to 3 p.m. at the City Centre branch. Learn the basics of the internet and be surfing in no time. Registration is required as space is limited; call the reference desk at 604-554-7330 to sign up.

Mouse skills: If you need to learn how to use a computer mouse, this is the class for you. Librarians will go over the proper way to move the mouse, click, scroll, and more using exercises designed to teach and improve these skills. The class runs Wednesday, Dec. 4 from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Poirier branch. Registration is required for this free program, as space is limited. Call the reference desk at 604-554-7330 to register.

Internet searching: This class runs from 2 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at the City Centre branch and is for those who have taken the beginner class or have sufficient experience. Registrants must be comfortable using the internet, entering an address in the address bar and scrolling up and down a page. Call the reference desk at 604-554-7330 to register.
