A Port Moody history enthusiast has stitched together two videos shot 25 years apart showcasing some of the changes in the Tri-City community.
Dave Zille acquired video shot in 1988 by Roger Clark from a vehicle as it drove down the length of Ioco Road and St. Johns Street, ending on Kyle Street.
"There's been lots of change in the past 10 years. [The video] gives people an appreciation for how much some stuff has changed, but a lot that hasn't," said Zille. "I think we're really at an interesting point in time because the community will looks so different even 10 years from now."
He said the video illustrates that Port Moody has done a good job of conserving a lot of the community's green space.
The 2013 portion was shot by John Biehler with a GoPro full high-definition camera mounted to the hood of his car. The camera has a wide enough aspect ratio so that it nearly captures both sides of the road throughout the six-minute trip.
He uploaded the video to YouTube, but said he's open to sharing the content with whoever is interested.
"The old video is such a great piece to have," enthused the former member of Port Moody's Heritage Commission. "I'm sure lots of people have old videos, and I would encourage them to have them converted to a digital format."
