Dogwood Pavilion will be hosting Coquitlam's energy manager, Trevor Billy, on Thursday, May 23 at 10 a.m., when he will share his experiences and the adventure of building a sustainable cabin on Texada Island and living off the grid.

Billy will show photos and share how he incorporated a composting toilet, solar electricity, rain water collection, local and recycled building materials, healthy interior finishes and more into his cozy cabin - with no prior construction experience. You will hear about the building process and what it is like to live in a net-zero home.

This presentation is presented free of charge but pre-registration is required. To register, call 604-927-4386.

Dogwood Pavilion, located at 624 Poirier St. in Coquitlam (entrance of Winslow), is a recreation facility for people 50 years of age and older.
