A Port Coquitlam art club opens a group exhibit on Thursday to mark its silver year.
The Art Focus Artists Association launches its 25th anniversary with a silver-themed display in the Michael Wright Art Gallery in Leigh Square Community Arts Village; a reception takes place on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. with Wright, Mayor Greg Moore and artist Tammy Pilon speaking.
The show runs until Feb. 26.
Started in November 1993 at Hazel Trembath elementary, Art Focus comprised of 47 members under Jacqueline Starrack. Since then, it’s been part of the community fabric by taking part in festivals and exhibits around the Tri-Cities.
