A new display is on the walls of the Port Moody Public Library.
The acrylic and oil paintings of Caroline Beutler will be shown at the library this month. A member of the Coquitlam and Port Moody art clubs, Beutler has exhibited at club shows, hospitals and other civic institutions.

A national contest that will award $10,000 worth of books to a school closes on Saturday.
Two Tri-City community schools - Seaview in Port Moody and Central in Port Coquitlam - are in the running for the Indigo Adopt a School competition. As of Tuesday, Seaview was in the lead in B.C. with 5,115 votes or "adopts."

THESPIAN ELDERS
Tri-City seniors can hone their thespian skills in a theatre course happening this fall at the Port Moody Arts Centre.
Residents aged 50 and up can see and discuss - plays, work on scenes and read stories to show and share. The first class at PMAC (2425 St. John's St.) is on Oct. 27 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.; workshops run every Monday morning.

XMAS CRAFTS
Artists and artisans who want to sell their wares in the Christmas Boutique at Place des Arts have until Oct. 26 to apply.
The Coquitlam arts hub is looking for new artists for its annual event that runs Nov. 12 to Dec. 19.
Among the works accepted are: felted pieces, wooden boxes, mouth-blown glass, silver work, unique pottery, leather products and other quality handcrafted items.
