Nov. 28 to Dec. 2: SD43 presents MetFest, the annual one-act play festival. Different plays each night with adjudication by professional actor and director Michael Fera. Plays are at Heritage Woods secondary at 7 p.m.

Dec. 2: Susan Vigneux and Don Kellett of Stringz Aloud offer up a mix of musical styles from swing and jazz to traditional tunes on guitar, mandolin and steel guitar at the Gathering Place at Leigh Square's Crossroads Coffeehouse. Doors open at 7 p.m. with open stage from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. and the feature performer at 9 p.m.

Dec. 9: Douglas College partners with the multi-faith and multicultural Universal Gospel Choir to raise funds for the school's Uganda Project, which gives students a chance to travel abroad and learn while contributing to relief agencies in their field of study, in the Laura C. Dec. 15: Get into the Christmas spirit at Centennial secondary's first annual Christmas Jazz Cabaret, complete with a turkey dinner prepared by the school's culinary arts program.
