More than 100 people were at Port Moody city hall Thursday night for the inaugural RESPECT fundraiser.

The event, which was sponsored in part by The Tri-City News, saw music from Port Moody's own Kristian Alexandrov and Shannon Gaye and Maple Ridge country stars Britt and Carly McKillip of One More Girl fame.

Faculty members from the Port Moody Arts Centre were also in the Galleria during the reception to show their talents. They included guitar players Michael Cham and Tim Porter, pianist Gina Williams, painter Agata Teodorowicz (who this month marked her 20th year with PMAC) and Ray Tse, the centre's new ceramic artist in residence.

Proceeds from the soiree will go to PMAC's Making It Work campaign to replace pianos and expand the music program.
