Young singers looking to learn about music and to perform in public can audition with the Coastal Sound Music Academy (CSMA).
The Coquitlam-based society is now accepting applications for its children's choirs. For the assessments, which will be held Thursday, vocalists will be asked to sing a simple tune like Happy Birthday or the national anthem, and to echo back short melodies.

Meanwhile, CSMA last month announced baritone Riley McMitchell will direct its boy choir, starting in September.
