On Sunday, the 20 girls with Coastal Sound Music Academy's Con Bella choir were on the national stage to sing O Canada at the Grey Cup in Vancouver.

Next weekend, they will perform with the Con Brio (boys), Children's and DeCoro (adult) choirs in a Coquitlam concert to mark the holiday season.

The four ensembles part of Comfort & Joy on Sunday, Dec. 14 will sing popular Christmas carols as well as Jerusalem by the Irish composer Michael McGlynn and a South African piece titled Ukutula. "It's beautiful holiday music and will help you get into the spirit of the holidays," said CSMA artistic director Diana Clark, adding its annual show "is a chance to escape the hustle and bustle of this time of year and have your heart warmed by these adorable singers."

Last year, CSMA's award-winning Children's Choir was in the international spotlight when it performed a special Christmas show at the Hard Rock Casino theatre with Burnaby crooner Michael Buble. And in 2010, it sung at the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Vancouver.

Clark said CSMA has been "very, very fortunate" to solidify its reputation with the invites "and there's other things that are happening, too, that I can't talk about because I've been sworn to secrecy! But, we're happy to give back the community in any way we can."

Tickets for Comfort & Joy at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14 are $20/$15/$10 through the Evergreen Cultural Centre (1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam) by calling 604-927-6555 or visiting evergreenculturalcentre.ca. Meanwhile, CSMA's youth choir will sing on Saturday, Dec. 6 at the Christ Church Cathedral (690 Burrard St., Vancouver) under guest conductor Morna Edmundson, the artistic director of the Elektra Women's Choir.
