Coquitlam actor to lead Cap. U play

Grace Cullingworth, a Gleneagle secondary graduate, will play Elizabeth Bennet in the show that opens Nov. 14 at the Blueshore Financial Centre for the Performing Arts on campus (2055 Purcell Way, North Vancouver).

PRINTMAKING

The first of two workshops led by Saskia Jetten will start tomorrow (Thursday) at Coquitlam's Place des Arts.

Space is still available for her Nov. 7 evening class, Printmaking: Pattern Printing and the Repeated Image.

FAMILY FUN

Family art classes - with a holiday theme - will be offered this fall at Coquitlam's Evergreen Cultural Centre.

Parents and their children (aged five and over) can sign up for Holiday Family Fun with Clay on Tuesdays.

The hour-long classes run from Nov. 12 to Dec. 3 at 6:30 p.m. As well, artist Judith M. Atkinson has Making Art Together: Holiday Cards on Saturday, Dec. 7, also for parents and children aged five and up.

NEW YEAR'S EVE

Canadian rockers Our Lady Peace will headline the first New Year's eve at the new Hard Rock Casino Vancouver in Coquitlam, which opens Dec. 20.

LIBRARY ART

A library chain that includes Port Coquitlam's Terry Fox Library is looking for a First Nations artist-in-residence.

The Fraser Valley Regional Library wants to promote aboriginal arts in its community branches, which serve nearly 700,000 residents in the region. The chosen artist will tour 12 FVRL locations to work on an art project next year; the artist can work with any media. For more information, visit fvrl.ca (under the Careers tab).

PRO-D DAY

Tri-City kids on a Pro-D Day on Friday can take a visual arts and ceramics course at the Port Moody Arts Centre.

The facility (2425 St. John's St.) is offering the full-day program to children aged five to 12.

Other Pro-D Day events will be held at PMAC on Jan. 31, Feb. 21, April 11, June 2 and June 27.
