Kids can put on their thinking caps and imagine what Coquitlam will be like 125 years from now — as the city gets ready to mark its 125th birthday next year.
The Coquitlam Public Library is holding an art contest for children aged five to 11 years old to get them to create images of the future: Will houses be replaced by tall towers? Will roads be necessary if we’re in flying vehicles? Or will the city even exist and be folded into a Tri-City mega municipality?
Cash prizes of $100, $50 and $25 will be handed out to the winners in the two categories (five to eight years old and nine to 11 years of age).
But entries must be in by Nov. 30 at 9 p.m. to qualify. Artwork must be in a landscape orientation using felt markers on a sheet of paper provided by the library; visit the Ask Me desk at the City Centre branch or go to the information desk at the Poirier branch. Visit coqlibrary.ca.
