Young and adult dancers are invited to audition this month at an open casting call in Coquitlam.
Motus O Dance Theatre is asking dancers aged seven and up to try out for a part in the Charles Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol, a presentation that will run at the Evergreen Cultural Centre from Dec. 10 to 14; possible school matinees are scheduled for Dec. 11 and 12.
The company is also looking for a boy, aged at least six years old, to be cast as Tiny Tim.
Prepared audition pieces are not necessary; however, organizers ask dancers to wear comfortable clothing and bring tap shoes, if needed.
Auditions will be held on Sunday, Nov. 24 from 1 to 6 p.m. at Evergreen (1205 Pinetree Way). To register, call the box office at 604-927-6552.
Successful candidates will be required to take part in rehearsals on Nov. 25 and 26 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Dec. 10 from 3:30 to 6 p.m.
Based in Ontario, Motus O has performed around the world and created 13 full-length productions - including A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Little Prince and Alice, an adaptation of Alice in Wonderland - since its formation in 1990.
