The hunt is on in Port Moody this week for the perfect pint and the best of B.C. wines.

Tomorrow (Thursday), beer aficionados can sample pale ales, lagers, wheat ales and more at the Search for the Perfect Pint.

Discover a hidden micro-brewed gem from among the 50-plus types of beer hailing from big-name taphouses to teeny microbreweries.

There will also be a great selection of food supplied by St. James's Well, Thrifty Foods, Onyx Steak House and the Boathouse, as well as a chance to win a travel grand prize.

Search for the Perfect Pint runs from 6 to 9 p.m. on May 24 at the Galleria at Port Moody city hall (100 Newport Dr.).

Tickets are $35, available by emailing [email protected] or at Gallagher's Coffee Bar and the St. James's Well (cash only). Get more info at www.portmoodyrotary.ca.

On Saturday, May 26, The Best of BC Wines Uncorked will see guests sipping on wines from throughout the province.

Whether it's white or red, from the Okanagan, the Island or the Valley, the list of more than 35 participating wineries has been carefully culled to represent the top this province has to offer.

And with names like Elephant Island, Forbidden Fruit and Therapy, sippers at this event can't go wrong.

There will also be light refreshments on hand, but organizers recommend eating prior to the event.

Uncorked, which raises money for the Port Moody Arts Centre, is also at the Galleria from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $45, available at www.bcuncorked.ca or by calling the arts centre at 604-931-2008.
