Coquitlam native Scott Perrie put out Everything Gives on July 9 - six months after he and fellow Redgy musician Jeremy Breaks wrapped up the Peak Performance Project, in which they were named a Top 20 finalist in the 2012 radio competition.

For his new work, Perrie created a series of original acoustic songs that he recorded in a day using only his voice, his grandfather's guitar, a harmonica and a stomp box. The album primarily revolves around environmental topics. For example, Above the Clouds, written during a cold night in the Prairies, talks about love and strength during uneasy times. On The Bus is about a female passenger he met while riding public transit in Vancouver. And Nobody But You is a musical narrative about his life partner.

As for his CD release party on Aug. 16 at The Backstage Lounge on Granville Island, Perrie will have a fellow Peak contestant on stage to join him: Hilary Grist of Maple Ridge, who placed fourth in the 2011 contest.
