Tri-City residents can join artist Joy Kirkwood this month for a banner project to mark Place des Arts' 40th year.
Participants can attend workshops to give feedback as Kirkwood prepares the new 12 banners, which will go up around Heritage Square in September for the Maillardville facility's anniversary launch.
The public sessions will be held in the Atrium on June 14 and 15, and June 18 from 2 to 6 p.m. Kirkwood will also be working on the banners on June 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will be painting them in Heritage Square on June 24 as part of the St. Jean Baptiste Day, from noon to 3 p.m.
Place des Arts recently received a $3,000 grant from the Coquitlam Foundation for the banner project.
