Port Coquitlam's new Second Storey Theatre is the venue for The Improvised Musical, which runs until June 25.
The made-up comedy runs Friday and Saturday nights at 8 p.m. with the plot inspired by audience suggestions.
"When most people think of improv, they think of TheatreSports or short scenes on shows like Whose Line Is It Anyway?" said show creator and director, Jennifer Pielak, in a news release. "What a lot of people don't know is that you can improvise full length plays and even musicals."
And the cast members - Pielak, Daniel Chai, Kasia Gabinska, Fran Breden, Logan Wolsfeld, Dylan Jenken and Jake Gillespie - will be joined by musicians Peter Abando, Conor Chambers, Tim Pielak and Jason Pielak.
