A vocal ensemble that practises in Coquitlam — and includes many Tri-City residents — clinched first place at last week’s Choir of the World competition.
The BC Girls’ Choir took the top international trophy and a cash prize while representing Canada at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod contest in Wales, in the senior children’s choir field.
Directed by Fiona Blackburn, the choir is performing this week at the Stirling Bridge International Arts Festival in Scotland.
