BEHIND THE SCENES AT ERH

A new documentary series that follows healthcare professionals working in emergency rooms will narrow its lens this month on three Fraser Health institutions - including Eagle Ridge Hospital in Port Moody.

On April 16, Slice will air back-to-back episodes of Emergency with a focus on ERH as well as Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster and Surrey Memorial Hospital.

The program is narrated by musician and author Jann Arden and produced by Force Four Entertainment.

The first episode next Thursday runs at 11 p.m.

SEASON FINALE

Two Port Coquitlam actors will be in the final play of the season for Surrey Little Theatre.

Cindy Peterson and Richard Wiens are in Truth and Reconciliation, a production that will be the company's Fraser Valley Zone Festival entry. The show, which opens next Thursday, is directed by Alaina Holland and penned by Etan Frankel, a writer on the television show Shameless.

SIR, YES, SIR

A Coquitlam resident is cast as a Marine named Gibbs in an upcoming show by Awkward Stage Productions.

Sam Mitchell, an SFU theatre student and member of Off-Key Improv, is one of 11 actors in Dogfight the Musical, of which the Vancouver premiere runs April 29 to May 3 at CBC Studio 700.

Based on the 1991 movie of the same name starring the late River Phoenix, the award-winning musical is from the Tony-nominated composition team of Ben Pasek and Justin Paul; it opened Off-Broadway in 2012.

Dogfight is Awkward's third annual Seed Project, providing emerging post-secondary theatre artists with an opportunity to direct and produce a show under the guidance of professional mentors.
