Jazz saxophonist Eli Bennett beat his father for a Leo Award last month.

Bennett and Daryl Bennett, a Port Coquitlam musician, were nominated in the same category, Best Musical Score in a Feature-Length Documentary.

Eli Bennett, 29, who now calls Burnaby home, clinched the accolade for his work on Believe: The True Story of Real Bearded Santas.

The Leos recognized the best of B.C.’s film and television industry.
