Japanese Taiko drumming, heritage baking and museum tours are on the program for this weekend's holiday celebration at Carré Heritage Square in Coquitlam.
Light up the Square: A Lantern Affair runs on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Place des Arts, which is hosting the free event with Mackin House Museum and Gare de Fraser Mills Station. Entertainment and activities take place indoors.
Attendees can make a lantern and take part in the light show at 5:15 p.m. in Place des Arts' Leonore Peyton Salon. As well, Place des Arts' young students will be singing about the Christmas spirit while adult pottery students will hold a show and sale of their ceramic works.
Be sure to stock up on handmade wares from local artists at the facility's annual Christmas Boutique, and see a special musical rendition by RAProductions of Dylan Thomas' poem A Child's Christmas in Wales.
