Place des Arts has a wealth of new programs on deck for the 2014/15 season, with an open house this Saturday to showcase them all.
The free event, from 2 to 4 p.m., is an opportunity to learn about new and returning programs and events for the whole family, and take part in some hands-on art activities.
Children's entertainer Mr. I (Yurgen Ilaender) will be demonstrating his Musical Rainbow class, with piano teacher Lorell Gingrich, fiddle teacher Rosie Carver and violin teacher Joshua Dean also leading hands-on demos.
Fibre arts teacher Catherine Dumaine will get kids to try out the table loom and there will also be printmaking, painting, basketry, pottery and more activities.
Open house visitors can also enter to win door prizes and anyone who registers for a program on the day of the open house gets a $10 discount on their class.
