Students from seven Tri-City high schools will be in character next month for the district's one-act play festival.
METfest will change venues this year from Heritage Woods to Riverside secondary, and is being organized by that school's drama teacher Nicole Roberge of the River's Edge Theatre.
Professional theatre actor, director and playwright Susan Bertoia is also returning to METFest as adjudicator, which Roberge said is beneficial because "she learns with us and sees the kids grow."
Among the plays presented will be from Riverside, Heritage Woods, Terry Fox, Gleneagle, Archbishop Carney, Dr. Charles Best and Pinetree secondaries.
Heritage Woods, which last year scooped three provincial awards for Define: Love after being selected as the School District 43 METFest entry into the Sears Association of BC Drama Educators' (ABCDE) Festival, is showing Equilibrium, said director Shanda Walters.
Tickets to METFest on Dec. 2, 3 and 4 at 7 p.m. at Riverside secondary (2215 Reeve St., PoCo) are $5 at the door. Call 604-941-6053.
