Shelby Parman, 11, a Grade 6 student at Port Coquitlam's Kwayquitlum middle school, plays the title role in the musical Oliver!, a production by Broadway Bound students that opens next Thursday at the Evergreen Cultural Centre (1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam).
The PoCo performing arts studio also features students Alex Cairns as Fagin and Savannah Maxwell as Nancy in the show based on Charles Dickens' novel Oliver Twist.
